The First Entry of a Singapore Iconic Restaurant Brand, CHATTERBOX, into Japan

CHATTERBOX, one of Singapore’s leading restaurant brands, will open its first flagship store in Japan, “CHATTERBOX CAFÉ Marunouchi,” on January 26, 2026, in the Marunouchi area of Tokyo.

The restaurant will be operated under a franchise model by IMM Food Service Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture), serving as the first base for the CHATTERBOX brand in the Japanese market.

CHATTERBOX was founded in 1971 at the prestigious Mandarin Orchard Singapore (now Hilton Singapore Orchard). The brand is widely recognized as a pioneer that elevated traditional hawker dishes—such as Hainanese Chicken Rice—from street food to refined hotel cuisine, transforming local flavors into internationally recognized dishes.

At its Japanese flagship location, CHATTERBOX CAFÉ Marunouchi will offer the brand’s signature Mandarin Chicken Rice, along with classic Singaporean dishes such as Bak Kut Teh and Lobster Laksa, all based on recipes that have been passed down since the brand’s founding.

For its entry into Japan, CHATTERBOX has adopted a flagship-store strategy under a franchise model. As part of its broader Asian expansion—following Hong Kong, Macau, the Philippines, and Taiwan—Japan is positioned as a key strategic market. From Marunouchi, a major global business district, the brand will showcase its culinary quality and distinctive identity to the Japanese market.
