A French Cybersecurity Company, Filigran Launches Japan Operations with an Open-Source Security Strategy

French cybersecurity company Filigran officially launched its Japan operations in April 2026 as part of its expansion into the Japanese market. Founded in 2022, the company provides AI-powered and open-source cybersecurity solutions that are already used by more than 6,000 organizations worldwide.

Filigran plans to introduce its “XTM Platform,” including OpenCTI and OpenAEV, to help Japanese companies improve threat visibility and prioritize cyber risks more effectively. The company aims to address challenges faced by Japanese organizations, such as limited asset visibility and inefficient risk management.

To lead its Japan business, Filigran appointed Maya Toda, a former executive at CrowdStrike and Sysdig, as Country Manager. The company also plans to double its local workforce by the end of 2026 and build partnerships with system integrators, government agencies, and technology companies.

Filigran will initially focus on sectors such as government, finance, telecommunications, critical infrastructure, and manufacturing. By combining open-source transparency with AI-driven automation, the company aims to support Japan’s shift toward a more proactive cybersecurity strategy.
