ChopValue, Canadian sustainable manufacturing company, Establishes Japanese Subsidiary, Set to Officially Enter the Market in Spring 2025

2025/05/30

ChopValue Manufacturing Japan Inc., headquartered in Motoazabu, Minato-ku, Tokyo, was established in July 2024 as the official Japanese subsidiary of ChopValue, a circular sustainable manufacturing company founded in Vancouver, Canada.

In April 2025, the company will open its first micro factory in Japan, located in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture. This facility will recycle used disposable chopsticks into high-quality furniture and interior products.

Driven by the mission to "give new value to what is considered waste," ChopValue has built a global network of over 80 micro factories across 9 countries. To date, the company has upcycled more than 200 million chopsticks. By bringing this model to Japan—where approximately 20 billion chopsticks are discarded annually—ChopValue aims to help build a more sustainable, circular society.

In collaboration with KOKUYO Co., Ltd., a leading Japanese manufacturer of stationery and office furniture, ChopValue will develop a circular system that includes collecting used chopsticks from offices, recycling them, and manufacturing new office furniture.
